A moment to slow down long enough to hear yourself again beneath all the noise, pressure, scrolling, distractions, and overthinking.
Lately I’ve been trying to create more intentional moments in my life instead of constantly rushing into the next thing. The new moon has become one of those moments for me.
Not because I think lighting a candle magically changes your life overnight, but because rituals create space for awareness. And awareness changes everything.
Usually I start preparing the day before the new moon or the day of depending on my schedule.
I deep clean my space thoroughly because I truly believe energy sits in everything around us. Dust, clutter, piled up clothes, old energy lingering in corners of your room… all of it affects how you feel mentally and spiritually whether people realize it or not.
For me, cleaning is part of the ritual.
I like to make sure my space feels clear before welcoming in new energy. This is a new beginning. A reset. A fresh cycle.
I also make sure to shower before writing down any manifestations or doing any spiritual work. I like to cleanse my space, my mind, my body, and my soul before sitting down with my thoughts and intentions.
Sometimes I’ll do an uncrossing as well because I like the feeling of intentionally clearing my path before stepping into something new. Whether you’re spiritual or not, I think there’s something powerful about consciously deciding that you no longer want to carry certain energy, emotions, habits, or heaviness into the next chapter of your life.
This is also the time where I refocus on my goals and reflect on everything I’ve accomplished over the past month or even over the past year in general.
I think it’s really important to keep these things written down somewhere.
When life feels slow or confusing, it’s easy to think nothing is changing. But when you look back through old journal entries and realize you’ve already manifested things you once prayed for or worked hard toward, it becomes easier to trust yourself and trust the process a little more.
Sometimes the progress is quieter than we expect it to be.
Manifestation isn’t just about asking for things.
It’s also about becoming aware of:
You can write intentions every month, but eventually you also have to create space for the version of yourself that can actually receive them.
That part matters too.
Small shifts become big changes over time.
I don’t think healing, spirituality, or self-growth is supposed to look perfect all the time.
Sometimes it’s emotional.
Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes it’s beautiful.
And sometimes it’s just sitting alone with yourself honestly for the first time in a while.
But I do think creating intentional moments for yourself matters.
Especially now when life feels so loud all the time.
Even small rituals can reconnect you back to yourself.
I’d actually love for this to be an open conversation because I’m always curious how other people approach new moons too.
Do you have any rituals you like to do during the new moon?
Do you journal, cleanse your space, pull cards, meditate, recharge, rest?
I’d love to hear what your routines look like lately.
